Closing individual work orders can be done in a few mouse clicks for users who have access to this function. There are a couple of options for this functionality in X4, one from the list view and the other from the detail view, which produce the same outcome: closing a work order to mark it as Historical. This document serves to discuss how to perform both methods.
DetailView
While on the list view, each work order number acts as a hyperlink to get to the detail view of that record. Click the Work Order Number in order to enter the detail view. Tip:ChangetheStatusorOpen/HistoryfiltertoOtofindonlyopenworkorders.

After reviewing and/or editing the fields of the work order, the Actions dropdown contains multiple actions that can be done to this particular work order. Hover over “Actions” which houses the “CloseOut” option.

After clicking the Close Out option, the Work Order Closeout Screen will appear. Any closeout fields can be filled in accordingly, and then clicking the “CloseWorkOrder” button will confirm the closeout in order to close this individual work order. There is an option to Go Back if you realize that you are not quite ready to close this work order yet.

Now when looking at the work order, all of the closeout fields will be filled in. By default, the system will change the Status to “H” for History and the Job Status field to “Completed” unless any custom changes have been made to alter this functionality.

ListView
Under the list view, each record or line item in the grid has a rightfacingarrow in the very first column. Similar to clicking into the detail record and hovering over the Actions button, clicking this arrow will reveal a list of actions that can be done to this particular record right from the list view. Under the Work Orders list, click the right facing arrow and then click the Close Out option.

After this slight difference, the rest of the individual work order closeout process is the same.
