Oftentimes in eMaint, there are various ways and places to accomplish the tasks you need to accomplish. When creating new records in X4, there are a few options to complete this task depending on how you are viewing your current records.
FromtheListView
Every listview has a plus button surrounded by a border. This button allows you to add a new record directly from the list view:
FromtheDetailView
The detail view menu runs horizontally across the top of the record details. The first button is an Add button that you and click directly in order to add a new record to that table:
Copy/AddFeature
The Copy/Add feature allows you to save time entering data when the new record being created has many similarities of an existing record. This feature can be found within the detail view by hovering over the arrow within the Add button on the detail view menu. Upon hovering, a dropdown menu is revealed which allows you to select Copy/Add:
ImportingData
Another method of creating records to the system is through importing data. If there is a need to collect many records in a particular table, the Data Import Tool can be utilized. The Data Import Tool can be found through the Main Menu by going to Administration, and then clicking “Import Data”.
