Adding Part & Labor Charges to an Asset in MX Mobile

This walkthrough will provide the knowledge of how to directly charge parts and labor to an Asset.

Before being able to directly charge parts and labor to an asset, there are a few minor system setting configurations that need to be made.

    1. Allowing Labor Charges to be directly applied to Assets.

1.1. Enable the “Allow Direct Labor Charges to Assets” setting inside of the system settings dashboard.

    A. Navigate into the Account Settings dashboard from the admin account.

    B. From this dashboard, continue by clicking on the “General System Settings” tab.

            C. In the list displayed on the right you will find a setting a few lines down titled “Allow Direct Labor Charges to Assets” click on the button to the right twice to enable this setting. Once the button is green, click save.

After clicking save, you will be allowed to directly charge labor units to an asset through either desktop or mobile if the user has the rights assigned to his account to do so.

    2. Allowing Part Charges to be directly applied to Assets.

2.2. Enable the “Allow Direct Part Charges to Assets” setting inside of the system settings dashboard.

    A. From the System Settings Dashboard which we should be still viewing from the last configuration that was made, navigate into the inventory control settings tab.

    B. Find the setting labeled “Allow Direct Part Charges to Asset” and follow the same procedure as before to enable this setting.

            C. Once this is enabled, click save. The system is now configured to allow Parts and Labor Charged to be directly applied to our Assets.

            3. Adding Part Charges directly to an Asset.

We will be focusing on mobile for this walkthrough but the process is the same as adding Part and Labor Charges to a Work Order through eMaint on a desktop or laptop.

    A. From your mobile device, login to eMaint and navigate to the “Asset” menu under the MX Data menu items.

    B. Search for the Asset that you wish you add a Part or Labor Charge to by choosing your search operator. For this example I am going to use “Asset ID”, after choosing our “Search By” operator and typing in all or part of the Asset ID we are looking for, click on “List Matches”

    C. Choose the asset from the list that you want to add a part or labor charge to.

    D. On inside the Asset record on your mobile device, tap on the “Menu” button in the upper-left corner of your screen.

    E. A menu will open on the side of your device and a little ways down the list of selectable items you will find the “Actions for ‘Asset ID’” section where you have the options to add either a part or labor charge to this asset.

    F. At this point you will just follow the same process that you would for adding a part or labor charge to a work order.
