The eMaint X4 system offers the option of having multiple signatures for a work order. Aside from the built-in signature sign-off that you see under the “Actions” menu of a work order, you can create fields on a form that will also hold a signature.
To create a field for a 2nd, or even 3rd signature for possible validation purposes, there are few steps that must be followed.
To customize your system forms you will need to be in design mode. To access this area of the system you will need to click on you user name at the top of your system tabs, then click on the “Manage Forms” option.

A - While in “Design Mode”, click on any yellow folder
B - In the “Create a New Field” section, type in a “Field Name” (this will be the field ID, so spaces and special characters are NOT accepted)
C - Type in a “Field Description” (spaces are okay) example: Manager Sign off
D - Then choose Multi-line Text as the “Type” for this field. This will be required to make this field function as a signature field.
E - Click the “Create Field” button when you are done.

Once a field has been created to the form, you can now change the properties of that particular field. To do so, you would first (while in design mode) click the wrench and screwdriver icon next to the field. This will bring up a pop-up box called “Properties.”
Change the Behavior of the field to “Signature” and then click on save. This will have the field function as a signature field on the form.

NOTE: Once a signature field has been edited, hence a signature has been applied, it will no longer be editable.
