After signing up for a Rackspace account and retrieving the needed account information, eMaint will integrate your Rackspace account with the X3 software. This will allow Rackspace fields to function properly. However, there are no fields in the standard X3 configuration that are set up to utilize the Rackspace integration. Therefore, you must create a new field or modify an existing field to use this functionality.
Creating a field
- To create a field, go into the table you want to create a Rackspace field for. (Example: Assets)
- Go into any record on that table and then go to Options / Customize Form.

- From Customize Form, click on any yellow folder in the design mode (if there are no folders to click, use "Extend form rows to" at the bottom of the page to expand the amount of potential fields on the form.
- Create a text field with a length of 254 characters.

- After creating the field, click on the Wrench/Screwdriver icon next to the newly created field to access the field properties.
- For the Behavior, change the behavior from "Default" to "File (Rackspace Cloud)."
- After changing the Behavior, click save and the Rackspace field is now setup for use.
